Graduate visa route for international students seeking post-study opportunities
The Graduate Route allows international graduates to remain for up to two years after completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree, and up to three years after completing a PhD. This route does not require job sponsorship, offering flexibility to work, seek employment, or gain experience in various sectors. Graduates also have the option to transition to a Skilled Worker visa if offered a qualifying role by an approved employer.
Those on the Skilled Worker visa may become eligible to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) after five years of continuous residence. ILR provides long-term settlement benefits and may serve as a pathway to citizenship.
